ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 30 April 2014
Dear friends and colleagues,
The Congress will be focused on the topic:
Public Health Nutrition: The Core of the International Cooperation for Development; Arriving together
Following the work we started in Barcelona 2006, I am pleased to inform you that the WCPHN 2014 will be held in November 2014.
The opening session of the congress will take place on November 9, 2014 in the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain.
The Canary Islands will be the location to set this link between the developing countries, and the first world countries, to help filling the nutritional gaps and planning a nutrition transition from deficiencies to a balanced diet.
This edition, the WCPHN programme starts with several “Pre-congress” activities to be carried out on 7-8 November 2014 in Banjul, and other areas of Gambia. With our joint efforts, we strive for better future for the Public Health Nutrition, working from local to global level. As an African saying goes; “If you want to go fast, walk alone; if you want to go far, walk together”
I would like to welcome you to the Congress, and to ask you to take part in it. Suggestions for the programme will be welcome, as well as your latest research in this field.
With my best wishes,
Lluis Serra-Majem, MD, PhD
President III WORLD CONGRESS OF PUBLIC HEALTH NUTRITION
